Missions is an important part of who we are and what we do here at West U Methodist. Scroll down for more information about some of our various mission projects!

5th Sunday Mission Projects

On every 5th Sunday we come together as a church to work on a service project. We do a variety of different mission projects such as packing beans for CCSC or creating hygeine bags for the homeless.

5th Sunday mission projects usually take place at 9:00 am and are finished in time for Sunday School. Breakfast tacos and refreshments will be provided.

Our next 5th Sunday mission project will be on September 29, 2024.

Christian Community Service Center (CCSC)

We are one of CCSC’s partner churches. One of the ways we support CCSC is through regular food drives throughout the year. The items collected benefit people in need in southwest Houston.

Our next food drive benefiting CCSC will be on November 3rd and 4th. Brown bags will be passed out during Worship on October 27th. You can bring your bags to the High Court with you to Worship on Sunday, November 3rd. You can also bring donations to the tent outside of the church on Monday, November 4th from 9:30 am-12:30 pm.

Shearn Elementary Mission Projects

Each year we partner with Shearn Elementary to help them meet the needs of their students. Towards the end of the summer, we do a school supplies drive and collect supplies to help them start the school year off strong. In the winter we do a coat drive to help make sure their students stay warm. We also participate in the Shearn Reading Program; where members volunteer their time to go and read to the students at Shearn on Fridays.

Our school supplies drive for 2024 was a great success! We took an entire van full of supplies to Shearn and even added in some pencil bags, posters, and bookmarks that our children made for the students during VBS.

Dates for the coat drive will be announced soon.
