Sunday Services

We have a variety of opportunities each Sunday morning for you to join us as we Worship and learn as a church community!

Sunday School

Each Sunday at 10:00 am we offer Sunday School classes for Youth and Adults. We have a variety of Sunday School classes that cater to each age and stage of life! You can join our Sunday School classes at any point throughout the year, and no registration is necessary.

We have childcare available for infants through 5th grade during the 10:00 hour! The nursery is located in Room 119 and Elementary childcare is located in the Elementary Sunday School Classroom.

We also offer Sunday School classes for preschool and elementary-aged children! Preschool and Elementary Sunday School takes place during the Worship hour (11:00 am). Children will attend worship with their families and are invited to sit together with the Children’s Ministry. The children will attend the Children’s Message together before being dismissed to Sunday School as a group.

Sunday School is an essential part of church life, and we hope you’ll join one of our classes as they study scripture together!

Worship

We hold Worship at 11:00 am on Sunday mornings. Our Worship service is a blend of traditional and contemporary styles. We will praise God together through song, prayer, scripture reading, and a sermon led by one of our Pastors.

Holy Communion is typically shared on the first Sunday of the month during this service.

Children’s Message

Each Sunday during Worship we have a special time just for our children. The children are invited up to the front to join our Children’s Director and hear a short message. The message usually ties in with what the congregation will hear in the Sermon that day and is presented in a way that is relevant and applicable to the children. At the end of the Children’s Message, the children will go as a group to Sunday School. They will return at the end of Worship during the Sending Song.

Special Sundays

Communion Sundays (1st Sunday of every month)

The sacrament of Holy Communion (the Lord’s Supper or Eucharist) is a meal of bread and cup that Christ initiated. It reminds us that Jesus died for us, celebrates Jesus’ presence among us, and unites us with Christians worldwide as we praise God for the gifts of grace and salvation. Finally, the meal sustains us as we seek to grow and live as faithful disciples of Jesus Christ.

We share Holy Communion during worship services on the first Sunday of each month and during all Christmas Eve Services.

All who believe in Jesus Christ and seek to be like him are welcome to take Holy Communion. You do not have to be a baptized Christian, United Methodist, or a member of West U Methodist to participate. Children of all ages are welcome.

5th Sundays

Each time there is a 5th Sunday in a month, we have a special church-wide mission project! That means that on 5th Sundays our morning starts at 9:00 am.

9am — Church-wide mission project

10am — Adult and Youth Sunday School

11:00am — Combined Worship Service/Children’s Sunday School

Our next 5th Sunday mission project will take place on September 29, 2024.

Baptism Sundays

The sacrament of Holy Baptism is Christian initiation. Through baptism, we are welcomed into the family of God. We acknowledge and celebrate the grace of God, freely offered to us before we were even aware of it. We confess our sins and vow to trust in and serve Jesus Christ as our Lord. Baptism is the outward and visible sign of our covenant with God, where we accept God’s gifts of freedom and power that allow us to grow in faith through the constant efforts of the Holy Spirit.

In the United Methodist Church, baptism may occur at any age and is a communal celebration that almost always occurs during a regular worship service. After the baptism, the congregation vows to nurture and support those baptized—adults, youth, children, or infants. Baptisms are scheduled through the Senior Pastor.

Sprinkling, pouring, and immersion are all acceptable ways to be baptized in The United Methodist Church.

We also have special services for Holy Week, Christmas, and other occasions throughout the year. Stay tuned for more information on our next special service!
